No, cause then we have a bunch of kids who act like the original is the new one. Like I showed some friends the trailer and they thought it was like THE new horror franchise.

Yeah but that’s really not that bad. It’s bound to happen with any remake, and it’s more of a mild annoyance to me. It’s just what happens with younger people. When I was a teenager I didn’t know much better either. I rented the original Black Christmas because I thought it was Black X-Mas and had no idea that there was even an “original”. Now it’s one of my favorite horror films of all time. Every one needs to start somewhere, and the only good part about this movie is the fact that it WILL cause people to find and buy the original.

That being said, The Evil Dead is my favorite horror movie of all time and I’m not happy about the remake’s existence as a whole. Most of the time I choose to not even acknowledge it or talk about it. But, people not being educated on horror is something I’ve accepted,  and I try to not act like a self-righteous, selfish dink about people not knowing everything that I do. And being a fan of the original, the only thing I am glad about is the self-promotion of Sam’s version it creates.
